| Water sports: The Yellowstone River and other local Class I, II and III waters, have plenty of places for downriver and whitewater rafting or kayaking. Outfitters like Yellowstone Rough Riders or Flying Pig Adventure Company book trips or rent equipment. There's also boating and windsurfing on nearby Daily Lake. | Skiing: Cross country ski most anywhere, or downhill ski at Big Sky, Moonlight Basin or Bridger Bowl, three nearby ski resorts that offer the same premiere skiing and snowboarding as other more famous resorts-without the lift lines. |

| Hunting: Well-known for some of the best big game hunting in North America, our area is home to elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, antelope, cougars and black bears. Outfitters like Montana Guide Service specialize in guided hunts. |

| Snowmobiling: Paradise Valley, Yellowstone National Park, West Yellowstone and Cooke City (known as the snowmobile capital of the world) have some of the best trail riding and extreme snowmobiling anywhere in the world. |

| Wildlife viewing: Our area of Southwest Montana is perhaps the best place in North America to see free-ranging elk, whitetail and mule deer, moose, bison, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, antelope, cougars, black bears, bald and golden eagles, beaver, otter, coyote, wolves and many more. |
