"I can honestly say that PFL is the most caring and thoughtful company for which I have ever worked."
I started work for PrintingForLess.com (PFL) four years ago as a bindery worker. Since then I have changed job positions four times and I am now currently a RAT here at PFL. Besides the incredible opportunity for personal growth I am always amazed at the innovations that PFL continues to develop. PFL's motto is work smarter not harder. Anyone who can come up with a better way to do something is taken seriously, which leads to continuous improvement (ie. better tools and methods) which is also one of PFL's core values.

I can honestly say that PFL is the most caring and thoughtful company for which I have ever worked. The employees are truly more like an extended family than a business. When ever someone is in need their coworkers are there for them. If you are looking for a typical medium sized, quickly growing company with mean, back stabbing, bitter people and little or no potential for growth or opportunity than you certainly don't want to work for PFL.

"I feel comfortable voicing my opinion and know that I am heard. I am not just another worker bee."
I moved to Montana after living near Vail, Colorado for 3 years. I wanted to get away from resort town life, but did not want to give up living in a beautiful place with easy access to recreation. Livingston is perfect. There is skiing, hiking, camping, biking and more all right here. You can be in Yellowstone National Park in an hour.

And the company is great. There is never a dull moment in the programming department or a lack of work. PFL is a technology based company. Everyone's ideas are heard and we always have a long list of great ideas waiting to be implemented (most by the programming team). It is a great challenge to keep improving the system and continually make the process easier for employees and customers. It is also rewarding. We spend a good portion of our time supporting the web sites we have developed, helping other employees, finding out how the interface is being used and how it can be enhanced.

What I like best about working at PFL is the atmosphere. I feel comfortable voicing my opinion and know that I am heard. I am not just another worker bee.

"Do I regret moving away from city life? Not for a minute."
Relocating to Montana was a dream since I first began visiting the state in 1998. Prior to living in Montana, I spent 5 years working in Denver, CO and 2.5 years in the Boston, MA area. A metropolitan location seemed to be a prerequisite to having a career in telecommunications that had serious growth potential. My previous positions were all with large corporations - 30,000+ employees and while they were good jobs, roles were clearly defined and expertise boundaries were sometimes difficult to cross. My position at PrintingForLess has allowed me to broaden my focus from traditional and wireless networking to include network security, server and storage administration, telephony (traditional and VoIP) and end-user assistance.

Deep pools of knowledge are a terrific credential in any job, but I have not seen many opportunities that afford technical staff to grow in as many areas as are as available here at PFL. I am always involved in several technical projects, often as either Project Manager or Technical Lead (sometimes both). Growing companies having growing needs for network services and capacity. New projects are always on the horizon and at PrintingForLess, no technology is out of reach. I feel very satisfied in my position because I know that my input makes a difference in the company's long term direction and because it is good to be a part of a company that is growing in a steady, controlled manner. Beyond that, PrintingForLess is a fun place to work. It is hard to not enjoy your job when you are surrounded by a diverse group of energetic, positive people.

Do I regret moving away from city life? Not for a minute. Here, I have easy access to excellent snowboarding terrain, numerous mountain ranges for hiking and camping, world-class hunting and fishing and most importantly I live and work in great communities. The city can be visited, but this is where I want to live.

"I have learned more at PFL in a few weeks than I expected to over a career."
So here's this little printing company in Montana that has a website that thinks they're going to change the way the world does business, just because they have a website. Obviously they must have missed the news in Montana that the dot com bubble popped years ago, and the whole world learned that adding .com to your name, putting up a website, and hiring floods of new employees with fancy job titles is not a successful business model.

This is exactly how I felt about PFL when I first heard them at a university career fair. I have to admit they did have entertaining representatives who told amazing stories of growth, and how exciting working there was. Truthfully I wasn't convinced. What could be exciting and challenging about working for a printing company anyway?

Fortunately, I followed up with a tour and initial interview which sparked my interest a little more. So I trudged a bit deeper. This was the point where I realized PFL was unlike any other company that I had interviewed with. Now nervous and excited for the final interview, I was sure this was something I wanted to be a part of.

Since I became part of the PFL team in January of 2005, I've learned several things: PFL has a successful business model and an open book management system that stresses transparency. PFL has empowered me to be successful by providing the training, the resources, and a culture that promotes virtually all personalities. Yes it challenges me, and I have learned more at PFL in a few weeks than I expected to over a career. The best part is that I look forward to going to work everyday.

"PrintingForLess is by far the most progressive company I have ever seen."
I moved from Iowa to Livingston, MT in July of 2004 and have found a new home. Livingston is a fantastic town literally surrounded by mountains and the beauty that makes Montana such a great place to live and work.

Not only is Livingston great, but PrintingForLess is by far the most progressive company I have ever seen. I have read about companies that offered unique benefits like day care for their employees and allowed dogs in the workplace, but never thought I would work for one. Working for a company so dedicated to its customers, and its employees, has been one of the greatest opportunities I have ever experienced.
